These sponge filters have been running in our tanks for AT LEAST 4 weeks, gathering all kinds of beneficial bacteria that your tank needs to process all your fishes' waste! We have different sizes to accommodate your tanks, and since you can never have too much filtration, sizing up is always a good option!

Each seasoned sponge filter comes ready to use with weighted base. Air pump and tubing sold separately.
Shipping & Care
Your filter ships with priority handling to preserve the beneficial bacteria colony. Once installed, simply rinse the sponge in old tank water during water changes to maintain optimal performance - never use tap water, as it can kill the beneficial bacteria!

Maybe you've done your research already or maybe you got an old tank from a friend. Liquid Gold allows you to season your own filter yourself, whether it is a sponge or canister filter.
Live Culture Shipping Schedule and Temperature Policy
We ship out Monday-Wednesday only to ensure our live cultures arrive fresh! Orders placed after 12:00pm PST Wednesday will be shipped out the following Monday.
Note: We currently only ship to the U.S. and do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii at this time.
To keep your live cultures safe in transit, Puffer Pantry ships only when temperatures support a healthy arrival.
We do not ship when:
- Origin or destination temperatures are below 35°F
- Origin or destination temperatures are above 95°F
If temperatures fall outside this range, your order will be held until conditions improve.
